One of the drawbacks to the logging sync is that your debug output will wait
on other processes. This will give you a wrong sense of timing with debug.
I can only think of the example where you send out a ping and you are
debugging ip icmp. Try it. You will get the ..... before you see any
debug. When your debugging ISDN it doesn't give you the correct sense of
flow at which things are occurring.

I still like the command.

Don't you just hate it when you're in the middle of typing a command and the
IOS spits out some logging junk in the middle of you're command and you
can't tell where you left off. You can hit "Ctrl - R" and it will replace
what you typed, or you can specify the logging synchronous command , which
will automatically bring up your partially typed command line if it's
interrupted by logging.

It definately helps. I will add that in my list of commnad to blast on
each router.

BTW, One of the CCIE I know for a while had recommended me to use
following command on each router during lab.

line con 0
 logging synchronous

He said that command will help a ton during lab. I was unable to
understand exactly what is the effect of that command. What is difference
between sync and async logging? If you know and can explain please help.
