Hey guys

There are two kinda of code for the MSFC..hybrid and native. With the native
IOS which is one IOS for both the MSFC and the switch you have the look of the
2949G (not the 2948g-L3). This is using switchport commands and vlan
databases but my understanding is that they are still layer two
interfaces/ports. IE you dont need to use IRB like with the 2948g-L3 switch.
The issue with this new code is the upgrade process which is pretty easy if
you can follow directions but you would be surprised how many people cant and
lots of bugs since its so new.

Are you sure about it? Because you configure cat6k just like 5k
box. Assign ports to different VLANs and then use session xx command to
assign layer 3 information to that VLAN. It is not line Cat2949-L3 switch
with standard router like IOS where every port by default is a L3 port and
you end up using IRB to put multiple ports in one bridge group.

I could be wrong but that's what I thought. Anybody with more experience
on cat6k is welcome to comment on this.
