Cisco on cable network (or any ISP net!)

       Anyone out there have any luck running a static address on a Cisco
   on @Home's network? They gave me a static ip for my router so I can
   make my lab available from the net, but I'm having no luck. Then after
   I called back to say it wasn't working they said they don;t support
   static address? HUH?
       I have a 2509 and my pc on the same hub. PC works fine, and I can
   ping from both devices locally. I can't hit the default gateway from
   the router but I can from the PC.
       Second, anyone familiar with X-windows and how I can set that up
   on my home pc so I can access my local telnet from the net using
   X-Windows client from outisde.
       Thanks!
