Members, thanks for the advice. I have tried all suggested solutions, but no
luck. This is obviously a strange problem to me. Router still do no respond
to any keystrokes at all. Below is the output when I reloaded router

Cisco Internetwork Operating System Software
IOS (tm) 2500 Software (C2500-D-L), Version 12.0(8), RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

cisco 2509 (68030) processor (revision D) with 8192K/2048K bytes of memory.
Processor board ID 05228981, with hardware revision 00000000
Bridging software.
X.25 software, Version 3.0.0.
1 Ethernet/IEEE 802.3 interface(s)
2 Serial network interface(s)
8 terminal line(s)
32K bytes of non-volatile configuration memory.
16384K bytes of processor board System flash (Read ONLY)

This is as far as I can go. No router> or router# prompt at all. No response
from the router with the keystrokes. Any advice is welcomed. Thanks members
