Title: RE: dial-type on FXS's ?
I'm not sure about 12.0.9 but in 11.3 the command is "cptone". You
can use it to set local dial tone, local busy tone, and callers
ringback. Let me knwo if that was it.
Jamie as you say cptone does the audible call inidciation tones.
However our Telco voice switches support DMTF dialing which is what
the US has so you get a musical tone for key presses. And the
original/older dialing method in Ireland is that the numbers dailed
are inidcated by very fast on/off hook signals to the exchange. So you
could in theory dial a phone number by press the on/off hook buttom
very fast. It dates back to the way mechanical exchanges one or two of
which still exist here in rural areas.
cptone ireland only does dmtf.

Subject: dial-type on FXS's ?
Anyone know why with 12.09 code I can not set the dial-type on a
FXS
port. I keep seeing the dial-type command in the config guide but a
"?" does not show it up as a command under voice-port x/x/x.
The reason I want to use it is to set a port to use pulse dialing
rather
than DMTF. In Ireland most phones use pulse dialing so my two
handsets
only support pulse.

Kevin
