at the rommon prompt:
rommon> confreg 0x3922
This will set the console baud rate to 115200 unless you prefer to copy it
at 9600 (ouch!!)
type reset
you'll start to see garbge on Hyperterminal
Set up a new Hyperterminal with baud rate set to 115200
at the rommon prompt:
rommon> xmodem -c <ios filename>
answer Yes to the prompt
when you see "ready to recieve <ios filename>"
goto "transfer" menu in Hyperterminal and select "send File"
choose xmodem as protocol and specify the path of the file. Then hit send
file.
when it is done it will program the flash and reboot.
Make sure when you are done you change the console baud rate back to 9600.
A NOTE: I have found that if you change the config register from romon
mode you have to change it back in rommon. So you'll have to do a break
sequence to get back into rommon mode to change it back to 0x2102
Another NOTE: WINDOWS NT Hypertermal has a known bug. You can't do a break
sequence using the default NT Hpertermal. You'll need to download the
personal edition from Hilgreave or use a different program.
P.S. Using the romon "tftpdnld" command will be faster.
