I hate when that happens.
Be careful it is not always line 1 (port 2001). below is a 3640 with digital
modem cards.
the reverse telnet port in this case would be 2129.
So always do a show lines and add 2000 to the line number

Did it quite a few times, but actually had it pointed out to me that aux is

Experience has shown that the 'clear line aux 0' may need doing a couple of
times. I've normally got it working on the second or third attempt, rarely
on the first.
