I typed enable "AS SOON" as I received the console prompt. After I typed
enable, I tried entering through the password prompt but it said "sorry". I
can't enter enable mode. What am I doing wrong?

The password is blank for that first little while, so do the following:

boot switch.

Type enable
Hit enter at the password prompt.
Type: set enablepass
Hit enter at the Enter Old Password: prompt.
Then you can set it to whatever you like.

Cheers
Alex.
