Did you try putting "async default routing" on the async ports as well.
"Async dynamic routing" allows the use of routing protocols on an interface,
and "async default routing allows you to enable the use of RIP, OSPF, and IGRP
routing protocols on an asynchronous interface.

Subject: OSPF over async
I'm stumped on this one. I have configured 2 routers to connect
Aux-to-Async. The connection is up and I can ping both sides of the
connection. a sho ip ospf int async # on both interface show they are
configured for ospf. It also shows, under timers, No Hellos (passive
interface)
Why, I have no passive interface commands and the async ports have
"async dynamic routing"????
