if you are coming from 7609 world then be sure to take a shock about having
l2 services on the ports. asr by default will not allow you to have a
switchport and there by the whole point of trunk between your redundant
devices and having to configure svi's is out of scope.
we had to come up with a back-to-back vpls in order to form l2 services
between two devices and pass FHRP hello packets for back to back devices.
You can still achieve more or less the same thing with Bvi interfaces and
using a bridge-domain.
Its purely a Edge device (understanding the typical needs),i have depolyed
9006 as a spoke device and 9010 as hub device.
cisco ios xr support forum is a great place to know about the device
advantages and disadvantages, folks there are active especially development
team headed by mr. Thujis.
Thanks
