few corrections to the above email, sorry about some typos completely
occupied with other thoughts.

end-node sends a dhcp-discover packet to the 7609 router

7609 forwards the discover packet to the dhcp-server

dhcp-server releases the offer packet for end-nodes request

offer packet reaches the 7609 routers and it gets dropped there

there are no service-policies applied to this interface , not any of copp
policies are affecting this, any knob or something which has to be
configured, i was reading in some online forums that port may have to be
configured with port-fast command, i am not sure how far that will help
will surely try it tomorrow

service dhcp has been disabled on 7609 , but that has nothing to do with
this setup technically.

any ideas are welcome, there are not many outputs that i have here except
for some replication results but again replication in gns3 works fine so i
do not think that will help.

Thanks
