Re: Anyone take v5?

Just an FYI that VIRL was rebranded as CML, but not out of BETA yet. CML does
do NXOS, IOS, XE, and XR. Works brilliantly.

IOU is what I used for v4 R/S
and covers 90% of what technologies you need to know.

I think the question
here is- does anyone that is using the v5 workbooks from INE or Narbik have a
working virtual setup yet? My guess is- if you say yes, expect to get
inquires about you GNS or IOU config files. ;)

Hey JB & & all,

As the l2 at stuff is pretty
much ingrained in me I have gone GNS3 for the
ease of wireshark captures. I
also have the old v4 lab for the l2 stuff.

I tried a 1000v and crashed my UCS
after the 6th box & honestly I can't see
the advantage of spending the B#B#B#
on a server to run this. Plus GNS spins
up fast and runs on my laptop :)

I
have IOL/IOU and I opted out only because the captures were not as
straight
forward, requiring a external link to a virtual nic for live
captures.

I
tried VIRL it and all my memory as I used a 1000v router, could not find
any
l2 and quickly got frustrated and turned it off.

V5 for me in December as I
failed the V4 with 33b & 65b, just going
through all the features again with
INE.

So GNS I know, I wanted to get going quickly so I opted for this, the
coming updates look promising to with a promise of l2.

I am open to ideas,
ideally I want to run a fully virtual lab for ios XE,
Juno's and any h/w I
want to plug in. But for now my time is dedicated to
study, GNS is my quick
and easy tool :)

That's my story, am keen to hear others :)
