Multicast mvpn : simple topology doubts

Hi All

I am studying for SP CCIE and i admit that multicast is my weak area right
from my R&S studies . I have following basic topology in gns which i am
working on for basic mvpn.

R1----------R2--------------R3--------------R4------------------R5

R1 , R5 as CE
R2,R3,R4 as provider routers

R1-R2 :Eigrp
R4-R5 : Eigrp

My unicast is working fine.

For mcast ; I did following :

1) enabled "sparse-mode" in core . Configured R2 as BSR RP
2) enabled multicast-routing for vrf TST on R2 and R4
3) configured my vrf dfinitions for mdt default and mdt data on R2 and R4
4)Enabled sparse mode on r1-r2 and r4-r5
5)For R2-R4 ; i enabled address-family ipv4 mdt"

6) for customer network ; I made R1 as BSR RP . I became known to R5 as well
7) Did a join grp on r1 and i can reach from r5.

That being done ; can you please clarify following ( just so that i make
sure that i have not made some false assumptions)

Q1 : What exactly is purpose of mdt default and mdt data ??
Q2 : Can we also have a customer network using the RP from provider ? I am
if I make that address reachable to CE device ; can all the nodes in
network agree on common RP and work smoothly ?
Q3 : I am still to check out this in XR . Any point that you want to
highlight in XR ?
