Auto-RP Listener

Hi All,

I wonder what's the usage of Auto-RP Listener command as when I configure
all interfaces to run on pim sparse mode auto-rp information are getting
advertised to all the PIM neighbors without the Auto-RP Listener command.

When I check it on IOS it says auto rp is enable. Wonder whether this is
IOS specific. I am running "3700 Software (C3725-ADVENTERPRISEK9-M),
Version 12.4(10a), RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2)" on GNS3.

AutoRP Information:
  AutoRP is enabled.

PIM AutoRP Statistics: Sent/Received
  RP Announce: 0/0, RP Discovery: 0/22

Can somebody enlighten me please.
