Primo, google is your friend but that is beside the point.
In a nutshell, both commands achieve the same goal, with the difference:
--> is-type - affects all interfaces (isis routing process global command).
--> isis circuit-type - affects a perticular interface where it is applied
i.e. fe0/0 or serial0/0.
