If the only selection criteria was price then Cisco will never win. It's
like saying "I need the cheapest car to get me from point A to point B and
the quote from the Mercedes dealership was way higher than the Ford
dealership's quote". They shouldn't have even asked Cisco to quote if
they were selecting based upon price only.
Also over a period of 5 years the cost of the hardware can end up being a
minor part of the overall cost of the network infrastructure.
