Nice blog thanks for sharing for my work I created an sshd tunnel between two redhat boxes which then went over an isdn link to another Solaris box where one of our applications was hosted, I did similar to tunnel local http packets for GUI access to this application and I found myself spending a few weeks going through man pages seeing what ports were open etc...everyone is different, with trying to prepare for the IE lab there really isn't enough time in the day to be doing these things as you need to be on cli labbing!
It's a race against time in case the blueprint changes, therefore my advice is to not waste time on these things indeed bookmark for after you pass the lab & get this easiest workable solution so that you can get access to your kit!
