Folks,
Sorry for this very off topic, nothing to do with lab but thought there are
someone on this list who have spent hours on this :) !
I am not a windows expert but just wondering if there is such thing called
NIC teaming with VLAN trunking support for BCM55xx Eth card.
A friend have Dell XPS 8300 with BCM 55xx chipset (broadcom netlink, GE) .
BASP from broadcom doesn't give an option to create VLANs.
the requirement is:
1x GE-PC------dot1q----trunk--------|Switch|-----client1/client2
VMware Workstation 8x (not ESXi blown up)
assign VMnet1 to vlan10 to VM1
assign VMnet2 to vlan 20 to VM2
In Linux version of VMworkstation 8.0.4 there is an option (without any
BCM/DELL or 3rd party driver) to do this funky thing but I can't see
similar thing in Windows.
tried:
installed , reinstalled BCM, latet driver. According to Dell/broadcom
website this version of lan card (Netlink GE) does not support VLAN/dot1q.
Thats why posted here to see if there is any quarky way to achieve the same.
Thanks
