If you look at some of the older IBM SNA documentation, you'll find some
nice examples of the 200-series ACLs, a little with ethertype, but a lot
with LSAPs. :)
So let's start with what you believe you will need to know with the
ethertypes. And then move on from there. What values do you believe
will show up in the lab exam?
0x0800 and 0x0806 definitely will...
0x8100 may show up as a possibility to need to know to filter
0x86DD may show up as a possibility as well.
Protocol types sound like more an IP ACL thing, in which case the "?"
would pretty well be self-explanatory! (OSPF, IP, etc.)
If you want to know more about ethertypes, and learn about their usage
and importance, I'd suggest taking a look at some of the wireshark
(ethereal) videos that are floating around the web. Get familiar with
sniffers and the output and you'll learn a bit that way!
Then this stuff will be second-nature to you, and it'll be easy IF you
are asked about it! :)
