It sounds like you're alright on speed. I think finishing with an hour
to go is plenty of time to verify the tasks you had trouble with.

I don't remember exactly how much time I had to verify, probably
around an hour, or hour and a half? To tell you the truth, I spent a
good portion of that time drinking a soda, going to the bathroom, and
then doing some very light verification. I made a few changes, but
nothing huge! If there are significant mistakes that need to be
corrected at the end, then you probably need more practice.

* I know you have the knowledge to pass the lab based on what you're
saying (and based on your blog which I've enjoyed reading!). Keep
doing practice labs to keep yourself fresh, and take another stab at
it.
