Multicast...

Well, I didn't know what to put in "Subject" since the mcast is so
blurry to me. Probably because I have never worked with PIM or any L3
mcast in my practise. At the begining of mcast study (reading some
books, watching video bootcamps, attending some real bootcamps) it
seems that I got at least 80% of it. And than, after some time pass,
or I go further in mcast technology it is becoming less understandable
for me :). But, I'm not planning to spend too many time on mcast since
it isn't such a crucial part of an exam. I thing that I got the basics
and little above it. If some advanced throubleshooting is needed, that
would be a problem...
Is anybody has similar problem? Any advices about getting familiar with mcast?

And some questions (maybe stupid but who cares):
- if on one router only loopback joins some groupe, and you do the
ping from distance router, why do you get reply from loopback IP and
from ethernet interface's IP that is incoming interface for that
stream?
- in topology with pure PIM-SM (not sparse-dense), two routers are RP
and every router, except router X, has static configs about RPs. One
router's loopback join some group, and distance router issue ping to
mcast address. How come that router X replys to that ping since it
doesn't know about RPs? As I understood in SM mcast won't work without
RPs.

Thanks
