Verbatim is typically used when you use EIGRP as your IGP, which does not have extensions for automatic calculation of MPLS TE paths, but you still want to use MPLS TE. As the name implies, a verbatim tunnel is static and cannot adapt to changing network conditions. If you used OSPF or IS-IS which support separate cSPF calculations then you wouldn't need verbatim path support.

Subject: Random Doubts in TE and Inter AS

Hi fellas

I have labbed up the TE and saw some new config options such as VERBATIM and LOCKDOWN

Can someone explain me what is the use of VERBATIM and LOCKDOWN

And also what is the use of *no bgp default route-target filter*? It is used in ASBR's connecting two different Autonomous Systems (AS) in Inter AS Options for L3 VPN.
