Hi folks,
I am reading BGP Prefix Independent COnvergence ( PIC) and IP Fast Reroute.
I am not getting the point exactly. This is wat i have understood . Please
do correct me if i am wrong and also explain ur points
BGP PIC is nothing but , during network reconvergence BGP does not need to
update the entire BGP prefix in the forwarding table. Only the forwarding
entry for the common BGP next hop is updated, resulting in a faster
convergence time that is independent of the number of BGP prefixes.
Can someone throw somemore light on this
IP FRR is a link protection mechanism where OSPF or ISIS can respond to
sub second convergence when there is a link failure.
