Access Concentrator

Hi fellas,

I was reading about PPOE and found a new term called as " ACCESS
CONCENTRATOR". Can someone throw some light on wat is actually meant by
Access Cocentrator. I googled it and and understood like this. An Access
Concentrator is nothing but a ISP device which takes the actual packet from
the end user to the internet cloud.
Correct me if i am wrong
