When I built my IPE study rack originally as a student, the first thing I
did was try to figure out the topology logically when looking at the
physical diagram. That doesn't work too well because it's not designed to
be a logical network diagram, it is a physical network diagram. The key is
understanding that you can build many many logical networks on the one
physical topology.
I have not looked at it in a while since I have not worked there in over a
year, but the diagram Marko provided a link for should be what you need
