Yep, you are correct...tried it out on my 3750G...I've never actually tried to do 32+ VLAN interfaces on a 3750 (of any sort actually). I have to ask, why would you want to use a 3750G as a distro switch for a site that has more than 32 VLANs? I can possibly see doing it at a very small site with maybe 2 or 3 VLANs, which I would still do it at the WAN router, but that's another topic. Additionally, I certainly would never consider mixing HSRP and VRRP on somebodies network. I don't know if it's technically possible, but it should not be considered as a possible design because it's just ugly as hell. In your case I would probably forgo the L3 distro switch layer and leave it as a L2 aggregate only, and then take the L3 to the WAN edge if possible.
