This made me think, what 'address-family' means when i hear it...
I immediatetly go to MBGP and the AFI/SAFI output from the cli:
R1#sh bgp ?
all All address families
ipv4 Address family
ipv6 Address family
nsap Address family
vpnv4 Address family
R1#sh bgp ipv4 ?
multicast Address Family modifier
unicast Address Family modifier
R1#sh bgp ipv6 ?
multicast Address Family modifier
unicast Address Family modifier
R1#sh bgp vpnv4 ?
unicast Address Family Modifier
So i thought i would go through the configuration guide to look for the
'address-family' in each protocol BGP, OSPF, EIGRP and RIP (sticking to R&S
blueprint stuff so no IS-IS)...
The first link is my initial thoughts when i hear 'address-family' and MPLS
L3VPN, CE-PE...
And the link for 'Configuration Examples for MPLS VPNs' is the first place i
always go when setting it up...
It seems some of the config guides on the doccd are pretty slim on vrf,
mpls, l3vpn setup information, but other have decent information, and some
IGPs use 'address-family' EIGRP and RIP, OSPF using a separate process ID...
