I, personally, prefer a fine bourbon. In my opinion, you won't find any better bourbon than Basil Hayden. Woodford Reserve comes in at a very close second.

They're *both* terrible, actually.
Try:
Little Creatures Pale Ale
James Squire {Amber,Golden} Ale or Sundown Lager
White Rabbit {White,Dark} Ale
Coopers {Sparkling,Pale} Ale
Redback Original
..and they're just the more well known ones! (it's coming into winter
here so ales hit the spot!).
Every country has its well known beers, and they're usually fairly
unpleasant, "common denominator" beers. When I (albeit briefly) lived
in Canada I enjoyed discovering all the wonderful micro-brewed
beverages. It most definitely was not all about Labatt and Molson!
Cheers,
Dale
