For VOL1, I was able to do majority of the lab via dynamips except for the
switching stuff. I just used the .net file provided via the INE site. I
also matched the port connections in VOL2, dynamips edition. The topology
is the same for all the labs. I had to tweak the configs to match, which I
used all 3725's in dynamips.
For the server side, instead of investing in a entire new server which could
be at least $1k or more, I'm using Amazon's EC2. I just fired up a brand
new linux server from scratch, downloaded and ran dynamips.bin in hypervisor
mode and used dynagen on my local machine to connect to the server.
Everything is configured locally on my PC but the heavy processing is done
via Amazon's EC2 server. Setup was 30 minutes max and its only $0.68/hr. 1
thing bad, the IP address for the server changes on a new session.
