using distance command in eigrp for eigrp external routes

Hello,

I am trying to change the administrative distance for eigrp external routes from one source. I have router with two paths learning the same eigrp external routes. I am trying to change the ad for eigrp external routes coming from one source. I am trying to get the router to use one path over the other unless the primary path fails?

distance command is only affecting eigrp internal routes.

Any suggestions?
