Couple of places:

MPLS vpn PE: use it or it won't work. If you have BGP as CE protocol or
vrf network commands, you need the NH to be the PE loopbak for it to
work.

POB (Plain Old BGP): At your AS border, not to need the neighbour
address be injected into your IGP. Design decision.

There are others for sure.
