Hi,
You can have a RPF failure on a router if the outgoing interface for the
unicast IPv4 route to the X, is not the same interface as the interface
through
which the router is receiving multicast traffic from X. Basically unicast
shortest
path is not matching multicast tree.
You can then fix this issue by using a static mroute for the X network, who
specifies the right interface for RPF, the interface which is receiving
multicast traffic.
If the router find RPF information in both the mroute table and unicast
table, it prefers
the mroute table.
