Help Troubleshooting MSDP

Hello Team,

I have configured MSDP and two different RPs, pinged between them etc...

Most of the time, each MSDP peer will update the other and I will see
something in the sa-cache. Not always ... but most of the time. Sometimes
pings fail too and I check the basics:

- Can everyone reach the RP
- Is PIM enabled end to end
- Are there any alternate paths that the traffic could be traveling

Any who ... back to the point of this email. Questions for the group:

1) what are the best commands for troubleshooting msdp? I use the:

sho ip msdp sa
sho ip msdp peer

I also use the debug "debug ip msdp detail"

Frankly, I am not learning much from these commands ... any better commands
or ways to learn?

2) I ping from a local router and the ping is successful. How to watch
this or see the MSDP messaging encapsulating / decapsulating?

Any comments on which labs might help me the best? Thanks team and have a
