Hi Guys,
I'm stuck in a design issue where we have ATM network , we want to migrate to
IP/MPLS. Request your comments - would these steps be ok -
1) SETUP IP/MPLS network
2) connect ATM end-points also to IP/MPLS
3) Let the preffered path of flow be still ATM backbone
4) Carry ATM reachabilty information using BGP RR (of MPLS)
5) connect all end-sites on IP/MPLS and the ATM reachabilty info in BGP table.
6) make path of endpoint to MPLS as preffered.
7) New devices added or changing address of endpoints to IP is easy now .
Refrence - "Carrying ATM reachability information in BGP
draft-ck-bgp-atm-nlri-00.txt".
Thanks and Regards
Jack
