No one is trying to fight you on this. We are just trying to help. Fact
is, people who really want to do this will find a way no matter the cost
like they have in the past.

I spent around $5k last year on my own training, lab attempt, lunch in

spent over $40k on a Bachelor's degree. Since I have obtained my BD, my
earnings have kept up w/inflation, that is about it. Not sure that the
degree has had anything to do with that since my degree is not related
to what I do. The point I am trying to make is that it is an investment,
but the ability to recover the investment is much shorter than my
student loans will be. I would bet CCIE investment will pay dividends
that are much more lucrative and longer-lasting if you stay in IT. I
think Narbik has a good point and I believe most folks whom have spent
their own money would too. You have to pay to play to some extent. Maybe
look @ CCIE vs. CCA for cost justification if that would help :)

Well, it depends on your approach, the process should NOT cost you more
than
5400 dollars, and that is with 2 tries. and you typically get that back
within the first year or two and then some (In MOST of the cases). So is
it
expensive? YES, is it worth it? Heck yeh.
