As far as I can tell the JTAC engineers perform the same work as if you
where working in the Cisco TAC except on Juniper equipment.
Most of the JTAC engineers I have dealt with really specialize in a specific
product, or technology. I'm not sure what the network specialist role will
be like and I've never worked in a TAC environment but I don't think it
would be bad for your resume but just ask what kind of work you will be
doing in the role etc etc.
You'd likely than have opportunities to move around within the company and
experience new challenges also, I have heard on the grape vine Juniper
really takes care of their employee's but that is from an outsider point of
view, I believe every company has their own set of positives and negatives
just ask you employer as many questions as you can think of to make sure the
job is for you.
