I feel the same way about Cisco(not)Works. Resource hog, clumsy, takes time to learn.

Solarwinds Orion NPM (Network Performance Monitor) was easy to install, quick to learn, excellent support and well worth the money.

If anyone wants to buy my CiscoWorks, I'll cut you a great deal! :)

From my experience HPoV is a piece of sh$t. Sorry to say that but that is
true, not friendly at all as compared to Solarwinds.
However, I have seen HPoV in larger environment. Their licensing kills and
gets very expensive.
