Hi George,
This is very good question and I encounter this a few times.
When your calendar status is busy in calendar, this is normal that CUPC
displays your status as "IN A MEETING".
to see that happening you need to modify a few things in CUPC/exchange side:
1. go to CUPC ->FILE>PREFERENCE>STATUS and tick on "show me as in meeting
..blah"
2., remember priorty of showing status will be as below order:
Phone Presence > Calendar Presence > Availability Status.
so make sure they are not overriding each other. a classic example would
be:
a) u logged into CUPC , with status = Available
b) u logged into the phone, with status = on-the-phone
c) u r calender is busy and calender present = 'in-meeting".
the result would be "ON-PHONE". you see how these clients overrides in
different scenario.
3. CUPS uses webdev for calender integration. Check your webdev protocol on
exchange server. Your webmail could be working even your webdev is broken.
a simple test u can do to see if webdev is working -
https://ipaddress/exchange (if this returns 503 or 401 error) that mean
webdev is certainly broken.
4. Your certificate type must be "CA", have seen outlook having problem with
other type of certificate.
5. finally
to see everybody's calender, CUPS need account with "receive-as-permission".
and then the fun start with troubleshooting :)
