Have personally seen the increased performance or slight reduction in the
delay over MPLS links when compared to the L3 links.
Though it is still a debatable topic whether MPLS has actually increased the
speed of packet forwarding/switching when we take into account CEF, its the
application of MPLS thats the best part of the technology/protocol.
L3 VPNs, TE etc
