RE: 28xx with 3g card was RE: OT: Switch up time...4 years!

I opened a TAC case to see if there was anything "known." But
apparently not. The modem hardware is an older version than the one that
is shipping now. I RMA'd the one in the router for a replacement. We'll
see if that does the trick.

  We are strictly on the Verizon side. No real HW issues that hung the
box like you are mentioning. We had some issues with latency and
"hiccups" in the thruput testing and had to drag in Verizon development.

After some back and forth threads, we found out that Verizon would idle
the radio at like 10 seconds. Even though the connection would still be
there. So we implemented some IP SLAs for like 7 seconds and it
significantly stabilized our performance metrics. Basically a PING out
to the Internet to keep the hardware busy....
