RE: Frame-Relay related query

But what networks are you trying to connect across it. My first guess would
be to use bridging, for example making a Layer 2 network between the
Ethernet network and the Frame-Relay network using a BVI and bridge groups.
But still the question is very vague. Which workbook are you working on?
What are other details of the lab.

With the little provided here I would simply do.

bridge 1 protocol ieee

bridge 1 route ip

!

int Fa0/0

  bridge-group 1

!

int S0/0

 encapsulation frame-relay

 no frame-relay inverse-arp

int S0/0.102 multipoint

 frame-relay map bridge <DLCI> broadcast

 bridge-group 1

interface BVI1

 ip address <Ethernet-IP> <mask>

That would allow communication across it without IP's

Or you could even leave the BVI off if you are using the router as a bridge.
If that is the case add the command "no ip routing" on the router.

But I would still say your question is very vague. More detail on your
vendor lab would help us to help you better.

Hi,

what could be the solution for this example:

Connectivity:

R1(s0/0) --------FRS------------ (s0/0)R2

Example: Configure R1 and R2 according to the following requirements:
Both should auto sense LMI type from FR switch
Subinterface should be used as follows R1 S0/0.102 and for R2 S0/0.201
     DLCI for R1 is 102 and for R2 201,

"DO NOT USE IP ADDRESS / IP UNNUMBERED LOOPBACK 0 FOR THIS
COMMUNICATION".

You can use IPv6, you can use CLNS, you can use bridging, you can use L2
VPN, what is your goal? Your question is too vague.

You can atom (xconnect over frame-relay interface)
You can also do bridging.

Thanks,
Sonu

Hi,

Thanks for your input. Actually, I am looking for a solution where we
can
not use the IP address also the IP unnumbered on physical and virtual
interface (sub-interfce, virtual-template, multilink). Is there any
other
way ?
