Re: OSPF router-id and net 0.0.0.0 in the LAB

I'm with Anthony on this one. I wouldn't count on being explicitly
told what to do with router-id. Sometimes things need to be understood
to be solved correctly. There are things that can interfere with OSPF
router-id selections and those interferences are fair game for the lab
exam.

Now, as far as the original question about setting router-id manually,
my recommendation is: Unless you are explicitly told NOT to set it
manually, do it. If you are told NOT to do it - don't.

Using "network 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.255 area X" is dangerous, as others
have pointed out. If you are certain that there will not be additional
interfaces later in the lab that are not supposed to be advertised
into OSPF, this is a perfectly valid solution of the task.
