I understand. At the risk of a flaming, Nortel has been doing split-MLT for
years. I just don't have a lot of experience with it on the Cisco side.
Nice to see they have caught up.

Hi,
MEC is to do etherchannel between more than 2 devices.
Look
sw1VSS----------sw2VSS
\ /
SW3
SW3 do ehterchannel between 2 devices. With VSS feature sw3 sees sw1 and
sw2 as one device and etherchannel does not have problem until this point,
if the connection between sw1 and sw2 where the VSS is doing SW3 will have
problems coz now it sees 2 diferent devices (you can only do ehterchannel
between 2 devices). That is why MEC is done if connection between sw1 and
sw2 is down sw3 only sees one device and avoids stp loops, etc....

They call it cross-stack etherchannel on the 3750's.
