MEC is not really a VSS thing. It just provide the ability to have an Etherchannel from 2 different switches to a VSS pair. So for example, you could not take a port from 2 different 3560 switches and make them Etherchannel but you could use 3750s since they can be stacked.

I thought MEC was more of a VSS thing. So it applies to the 6500s with VSS.
But the 37xx stack is not really VSS. Am I being too nitpicky or am I
missing something?

MEC would work using 6500 or 3750s stacked.
