You can do whatever you want with something like a hello interval - as long as it does not conflict with another task requirement. This is the rule of thumb for everything you configure in the lab exam.

As far as the removal of aliases...this is recommend by the proctors because there have been cases where their existence foiled their grading efforts. You see, if they have any problem whatsoever with their grading process - they instantly fail you. Examples would be you locked them out of a device, or your aliases were left in and caused a problem.
