hello Gaurav,

Hope you are doing fine..Well there is nothing stupid and there is much much
stuff we all don't know..Regarding IPS as per my knowledge and I am not an
expert in security there are couple of options:

1)IOS IPS on a Router
2)IPS 4200 Series device
3)ASA 5500 series can come with an AIP-SSM module which is infact an IPS.
4)6500 Catalyst Switch has a module (IDSM-2) which also is an IPS.

there might be differences between those regarding throughput/performance,
but I believe you can practice IPS on any of those.
