about Serial Interface on Frame-relay Switch(cisco router)

Hi All,
 
I have some confusion about how frame-relay switching operates on cisco
router, with back to back serial connection between FR switch and router.
 
1) do we need to set the clock rate manually or the command "frame-relay
intf-type dce" will take care of it.
2) on frame-relay switch, when I try to set the clock rate on interface, the
only option I have is "clock rate threshold".
