i have 3 router setup as R1 (ser0/1)-----(ser0/1)R3----R4
i configure pim dense mode and configure their loopback interfaces to join
an arbitrary group 224.2.3.4. when i do "sho ip igmp group" on R3, i get the
output below:

R3#sho ip igmp groups
IGMP Connected Group Membership
Group Address Interface Uptime Expires Last
Reporter Group Accounted
224.2.3.4 Loopback0 02:03:07 00:02:42 3.3.3.3
224.0.1.40 Serial0/1 02:56:39 stopped 10.1.13.3

questions:

   1. what does the "stopped" mean, under the Expires column?

after much troubleshooting, i realized that the registration source IP for
PIM was inconsistent across my routers, so i added the command "ip pim
register-source Loopback0" that that seems to have done the magic. now the
same show command above doesn't show "stopped" anymore:

R3#sho ip igmp groups
IGMP Connected Group Membership
Group Address Interface Uptime Expires Last
Reporter Group Accounted
224.2.3.4 Loopback0 02:23:50 00:02:01 3.3.3.3
224.0.1.40 Loopback0 00:07:07 00:02:57 3.3.3.3

could some one shed some more light on what happened here?

Thanks.

Jep
