Ahmed,
        The command below changes the ip address of lo in Ubuntu to whatever
IP you desire. If you want to "add" an IP (think Secondary in IOS talk) you
do it with this;

From the CLI:

sudo ifconfig lo add 2.2.2.2 netmask 255.255.255.252
