If you changed the MTU then what syslog or trap would you expect? Other
than if you were archiving command entries via syslog? As for your outage,
depending on whether you are talking L2 or L3, wouldn't you expect some TCP
RE-windowing/negotiation? What connection did you lose for 10 seconds?
Everything? VTY? Please elaborate....
PS: Why change MTU? Only reason I've messed with MTU on my 6509s is for MTU
issues associated with VMs and blade centers....

Subject: impact of changing MTU on 6509
Hi all,
Has anyone faced the same problem, it is related to "changing MTU size on
10Gb/s Interface", it seems that I loss connection for 10 seconds and I did
not receive any syslog or traps.
the 6509 has a WS-SUP720-3B and running 12.2(33)SXI ipservices IOS.
the modification of MTU was at Interface level.
Kind Regards,
Maher
